Howard County Reads 2009 Upcoming Events

This year our libraries will gather nominations for the 2009 title starting on January 15th. The criteria for selection stressed that the book chosen be well-written, appropriate for group discussions, and interesting to adults.

For several years, hundreds of people have participated in Howard County Reads, the annual community-wide reading program sponsored by the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library (KHCPL) and Greentown Public Library. Past Howard County Reads selections include Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin in 2008, and The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara in 2007.

This fall, book discussions and other programs will be held thoughout Howard County revolving around themes found in the title voted #1 in 2009. All programs are free and open to the public. This is an excellent opportunity to get together with poeple from throughout our community to talk about books. We hope Howard County Reads will continue to cultivate a love of reading while promoting a sense of community.
